Hours of work: 40 hours per week, over a rotating roster

About the role:

Take charge of the overall operations of the kitchen area, and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, and complies with menu standards and safety regulations.

Duties include:

• Ensure food is prepared according to menu plans, and that special dietary needs of residents are met.
• Design special function menus, ensuring that the brief and budgetary requirements are met
• Maintain appropriate quality and infection control standards
• Manage purchasing of supplies. ensuring adequate stock levels at all times
• Reviewing and assessing procedures to ensure employees maintain a safe and hygienic cooking environment
• Being a key part of the hiring process for new kitchen staff, and orienting new staff to the kitchen.
• Ensuring the kitchen is a safe and healthy environment

Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience in the same role preferred
• Excellent organisational skills and reliability
