Health and Safety Business Partner
A senior H&S role where your voice counts. Influence leaders, improve systems, and help create safe workplaces that truly care for people.
Caring is our calling – and we’re looking for someone who shares that.
At Radius Care, we support people to live well, safely, and with dignity. Our people work in complex environments where strong health and safety leadership really matters. We’re now looking for an experienced Health & Safety Business Partner to help us strengthen a proactive, positive safety culture across our organisation.
This is a senior, hands-on role where you’ll partner closely with leaders, influence decision‑making, and drive meaningful improvement – not just policies on paper.
Location: Radius Support Office, Level 4, 56 Parnell Road, Parnell, Auckland
Hours of work: 40 hours per week
About the role
As our Health & Safety Business Partner, you’ll work alongside senior leaders and managers to embed best‑practice health, safety and wellbeing across our sites. You’ll provide trusted advice, lead on complex risk and serious incidents, and help shape systems that genuinely support our people.
Your work will have impact at every level – from frontline teams to senior leadership and governance.
What you’ll be doing
Act as a trusted partner to leaders, providing clear, practical health and safety advice
Lead investigations into serious and notifiable incidents, including root cause analysis
Analyse trends and data to identify risks and improvement opportunities
Influence and coach leaders to build ownership and accountability for safety
Develop and improve health and safety policies, procedures and frameworks
Support emergency management, audits, regulatory engagement (WorkSafe, ACC), and assurance activities
Mentor and support Health & Safety Representatives
Contribute to Board and SLT reporting with clear, meaningful insights
About you
You’re confident working at a senior level and comfortable having courageous conversations when safety matters. You balance strong technical knowledge with a practical, people‑focused approach.
You’ll bring:
At least 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role, ideally in a complex or regulated environment
Strong knowledge of NZ health and safety legislation and best practice
Experience influencing leaders and driving change across multiple sites
Confident communication skills – written and verbal
Experience with incident investigation, risk management and safety systems
A tertiary qualification in health & safety or a related field (preferred)
Membership of a professional H&S body (desirable)
Available to travel when required
Why join Radius Care?
Work in a role where your influence truly matters
Be part of an organization driven by care, courage, commitment and collaboration
Support a diverse, purpose‑driven workforce across New Zealand
Enjoy a role with real variety, challenge, and professional respect
If you’re passionate about keeping people safe and want a role where you can make a genuine difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.
Radius Care supports equality and diversity in our workforce. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities, development of your career pathway, and a safe and healthy work environment.
